These photos are part of a series that I took two years ago, and both are linked to the concept of the shadow, and projection.

It was only when I finished with the shoot, that I realised what had happened. Usually when one shoots into water or any surface when the sun is out, a shadow will play itself across the water, or an image from above. Here though, the illumination came from below, and the colours and patterns were offered up like a subterranean present.
